At Oakwood STEAM Academy, we believe in nurturing not only academically strong students but also compassionate, socially-aware individuals. Our commitment to community service and outreach projects empowers students to give back and make a lasting impact both locally and globally
Our students actively support the Bajo Sayang Project, which provides education and resources to children in remote islands of Labuan Bajo. Through fundraising, educational outreach, and volunteering, Oakwood students have helped support over 4,000 children across 30+ schools and 20+ secluded islands. This project teaches our students empathy, global awareness, and the importance of using their skills to help others in need. (CTA - Bajo Sayang)
Oakwood students are deeply involved in their local community, participating in various initiatives that promote sustainability, wellness, and social responsibility. Some of our key activities include:
Oakwood encourages students to take initiative by leading their own service-learning projects. These projects allow students to apply their classroom knowledge to solve real-world problems, fostering leadership and responsibility. We aim to create responsible global citizens who understand the interconnectedness of the world. Through participation in projects like Bajo Sayang and exposure to global issues, our students develop empathy and the skills needed to be proactive in creating a better future.
We invite our community and partners to support Bajo Sayang. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, you can make a real difference in the lives of these children. Together, we can build a future where every child, regardless of background, has access to a quality education.
